Michael S. Grant has been a practicing attorney in Cook, Lake and McHenry Counties for nearly 30 years. Originally an associate with Schultz, Newell & Associates in Chicago, he established his own practice in Lake County in 1986 and has since moved his main office to Arlington Heights. Michael is a graduate of Arlington High School (1967), Grinnell College (B.A.- 1972) and IIT Chicago Kent College of Law (J.D.-1977) and became a member of the bar in 1977. He is a thirty-year resident of Arlington Heights.

Michael is licensed to practiced in all Courts in the State of Illinois, and as an Advisor/Attorney with The Estate Plan, the premier authority on Living Trusts in the nation, Michael has for twenty years been involved in the evolving process of drafting and establishing all forms of Trusts for the preservation and transfer of assets. He has written and revised language now commonly in use and conducted numerous seminars on estate planning, including the efficacy of Trusts and alternative estate planning vehicles.

As well, Michael handles Probate matters for his clients, including decedent's estates and guardianships for minor and disabled individuals.

Long an advocate of defendant's rights, Michael has undertaken criminal, DUI, OUI and traffic violation defense for his clients. Familiarity with and continuing study in all aspects of the law with regard to defending these charges, and knowledge of local court rules and proceedings, insures that his representation will bring each defendant the best possible outcome.

Michael's other main concentration of practice is real estate law, having prepared and closed sales and purchases for his clients for the entirety of his practice. A former title examiner, Michael is currently an agent for Chicago Title Insurance Company, North American Title Insurance Company and Baird & Warner Title Company. His experience in residential and commercial closings, as well real estate litigation, spans thirty years.
